Under Pressure.....

Some people work better under pressure....sometimes the powers to be just give you openings in your life to make things happen.  I never quite know which box I fit in.....

I stitched this piece before the holidays and then never got around to finishing it.  I wanted to stitch something on 28 count Toast....I kept designing things and nothing seemed to work.  Then Rabbit Garden came about....then I realized it needed to be a needle book.  After the stitching was completed-the inside did not come to me.  I kept thinking and then putting it down and well it got put on th shelf with get done when you have a moment staging area.

I really like to be in a zen moment to finish.  Actually to create and to experiement with new colors....but with my life the past couple of years that is not a possibility....So I take the moments when they present themselves.

It has been raining off and on and dyeing and finishing up with the new velvets, linens and trim for market just have not been able to get done.  I have combed my usual places for unique objects to put up for sale on Facebook and my Etsy Shop.  Alas I have not been able to find too many things.  As most of you know Facebook has changed out its algorithm and posting sales on Facebook has been a challenge.

Believe it or not Nashville Needlework Wholesale market is coming up in a week and a half.  As usual I am rushing around trying to gather items and finish up with this and that.  It has been a strange year with Norden Craft, Nordic Needle-two big distributors closing their doors abruptly.  It has left a whole in the market.  Several wonderful shops have had to close not because of the economy, but needing to retire for family and health reasons.  Now the designers are coming out of the wood work in groves announcing their retirements after this market....it is almost like musical chairs and lets see who is left standing soon.....never the less, I am still here....I am working on keeping the Etsy Store fresh and working on how to bet the odds on the new algorithms of Facebook.  I love what I do and hope to bring new items to you in the next year that will inspire and help you create items for your relaxation and pleasure.

As usual I am hoping to change things up-I am hoping to figure out how to video some finishing techniques and other ways to apply the trim and load them up to the internet after I get through the frenzy of the market.

Anyway.....this brings me to showing my newest creation.  Rabbit Garden Needle Case.

This fun and primitive piece just got finished this weekend.  I have found a few moments to write all of this and put it up on Facebook.  I have a few things to tweak on the instructions and this item will be for sale this week in my Etsy shop and at Market....

As always I appreciate your support, kind words and encouragement.  I could not be the person, company and success that I am without you.....I thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming along this journey with me.  I look forward to our future trips down whatever path this industry and my creative juicies lead us...Hugs-Ebeth.

Alphabet Pin Pillow

I know!  I should be in the dye studio working on items for market.  But when the stitching bug hits.....what can one do.  For months I have been trying to figure out a new design to stitch on Ruby Murray.  Well the idea came. I love designing Alphabets-I love moving them around and making them 'float' on the design.  This was a lovely quick design then stitch.

The pillow was stitched on 32 count Ruby Murray using threads by Weeks Dye Works, The Gentle Art and Classic Colorworks.  I used two strands on the 32 count.  It makes the color very vibrant.  If you want your piece to be lighter and more 'antique' looking you can use one strand of the fiber indicated on the chart.  I used Tarnished Halo velvet and Tarnished Halo mini Pom Pom to finish the piece.  The chart has instructions to stitch the design and detailed finishing instruction.

I hope that you enjoy this piece as much as I have designing it.....enjoy-hugs Ebeth

New Series....'Scraps'

I am not sure about you, but I have all these piece of scraps of linen, velvet, thread all over my studio and stitching area.  They are too big to just throw away, but not large enough to use for a major project.  I am also one of those stitcher that stitch in hand and stitch on the smallest piece of linen that I can.....so I guess I am custom making this new series for myself.  (Big smile)

Each chart will have two charts that will be small pin cushions, fobs or small pieces that can be framed or made into ornaments.

Here is the first of the series.....I think they are quite quanint and fun.  I did the stitching and finishing in a whole day.  They would be great gifts for exchanges or wonderful additions to your stitching baskets.

Crown and Beehive 'Scraps' I is stitched on 32 count Prim Grey by From the Cauldron , stitched with Honeycomb by Classic Colorworks and finished with Americana Froth velvet hand dyed by From the Cauldron.

My intent is to design these little treasures so that you can use up 'scraps' and change them up to get 'rid' of all the little odd bits you cannot bare to get rid of.

I hope you will enjoy this new series as much as I am enjoying coming up with the each new set.....

Hugs Ebeth
